At Trivento, I worked several different development assignments. These were often in the form of a few Trivento colleagues working on a project for a single client. Additionally, I organized various knowledge sessions such as the introduction of Git(which was very new at the time) and a new JBoss Application server.
Goede Doelen Loterijen (Trivento Detachering)
For the Goede Doelen Loterijen (Nationale Postcode Loterij, Vrienden Loterij, and BankGiro Loterij), I developed a new system for executing primary processes such as: - Managing participants - Drawing lots - Executing direct debit batches - This system was developed using Java Enterprise Edition 5 and the JBoss application server.
Agis (now part of Achmea)
With the acquisition of Agis by Achmea, I helped integrate Agis Zorgverzekeringen’s internet systems with Achmea’s systems. The applications needed partial rewriting and extension with new functionality. One of these applications is the "MijnAgis" website. In 2011, as a JSF2 developer, I was involved in migrating from BEA Weblogic (version 8) to JBoss (version 5) with JSF2 (part of Java Enterprise Edition 6). The tasks included converting/rewriting BEA-specific code to comply with the JEE6 JSF2 specification. I also served as a scrum master.
Wehkamp
Trivento developed the Advanced Pricing System (APS) for Wehkamp. With APS, Wehkamp manages product pricing, including VAT determinations and discounts on selling prices. The complexity lay mainly in the volumes: price changes for millions of items need to be calculated and applied multiple times a day. As a Java developer, I contributed to the realization of this project.
Learning Experience
We realized this project with a small but effective team and a clear scope. We prioritized high-quality software, which ensured that we achieved our set goals in a predictable rhythm. The codebase we left behind was very stable and easily adaptable, without any adverse effects. From this, I learned that a team thrives when it is self-organising.
Municipality of Amsterdam
The department "dienst Wonen, Zorg en Samenleven (WZS)" within the Municipality of Amsterdam is responsible for implementing the Social Support Act (Wmo) for individual Wmo provisions. To support this, I contributed to setting up the Wmo Portal (using JSF2 technology) and created backend services + service bus configurations.
